I definitely prefer buildings to houses. It is not the same due to various reasons:
1-In an apartment you have the view (of the city, of a park, of a garden, something in perspective)
2-There are no bugs. Most pf them live in houses with backyards.
3- You are not alone, neighbours can protect you.
I have always lived in houses but last year I got an apartment rental in Buenos Aires and realized that it is much better!
